Ingredients
- Black gram (country gram) – 150 grams (3/4 cup)
- Baking soda – 1/3 tsp
- Tomato – 3 medium sized
- Green chili – 2-3
- Ginger – 1-2 inch long piece
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Asafoetida – 1-2 pinch
- Cumin – half tsp
- Turmeric powder – half tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder – less than 1/4 tsp
- Salt – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
- Green coriander – one table spoon
Recipe
- Clean, wash and soak the Brown Chickpeas (Kala Chana) in water overnight.
- Drain the water from the gram, fill the gram in a cooker, add 300 grams (1 1/2 cups) water, baking soda and salt and keep it to boil. After one whistle, boil it on low gas for about 5-6 minutes, turn off the gas. The gram has boiled, prepare the masala till the cooker opens.
- Grind tomatoes, green chillies and ginger.
- Put oil in a pan and heat it, put asafoetida and cumin seeds in hot oil, when cumin seeds crackle add turmeric powder and coriander powder, stir 2-3 times with a spoon, now add ground tomato paste to this spice, oil floats on top of the spice. Fry till
