Red lentils (Masoor Dal) recipe
Ingredients
- Red masoor dal – 1 cup
- Onion – 3
- Garlic – 5-6
- Green chili – 4
- Tomato – 1
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin – 1 tsp
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- salt to taste
Method
- First of all, soak the lentils in water for half an hour and then put water, salt and turmeric in the cooker and cook it for 5 whistles.
- Till then, melt ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds to it.
- Then add chopped onion and fry it. After that add garlic and fry it.
- Then add green chilies, garam masala and tomatoes and cook for a few minutes.
- When the tomatoes melt, then add red chili powder and mix the cooked lentils on top.
- Now test the salt, add more if needed.
- Once done, switch off the flame.
- Your dal is ready, garnish it with green coriander.
